A Pretty Viola: ‘Sorbet Lemon Chiffon’

Sorbet White XP

Recent news reports of record-breaking cold temperatures have us looking forward to spring already. We’re offering a pretty Blue Ribbon Viola this year to warm up the garden: ‘Sorbet Lemon Chiffon’.

Flowers of soft lemon and bright yellow cover a mound of green foliage and flicker with a gentle breeze. These early blooming plants are tolerant of both heat and cold—in mild climates they sometimes flower all winter.

‘Sorbet Lemon Chiffon’ has a nice compact habit and reaches about 6–8 inches tall.  We like planting it among spring bulbs, to highlight the other colorful flowers. Sun to partial sun will result in overflowing blooms, so it’s a popular choice for hanging baskets and other containers, too.
